Wonderful Trek

I would just like to say a big thank you to all at Down to Earth Adventures for a wonderful Trek that Jacki Sutton, Ray Bowman and I enjoyed recently. We were looked after so well by all from start to finish. We had a great time and our guides were very knowledgeable and professional. I also cannot speak highly enough of our Porters who were just amazing and always kept an eye on us as well. Thanks again to all, I am sure we will be back.

Manaslu Trek

We just finished the Manaslu Trekking and just love it not only for the amazing views of the mountains, rivers and waterfalls but for the surprise of being in touch with real mountain people. Learn how different they are from one village to the next one, see their culture, clothing, lenguaje. Visiting monasteries, enjoy their celebrations and talk with the lamas. Also we are so pleased to see that Down to Earth is a fair company to their employees having one porter per person an paying and insurance for them. Is very sad to find in the trekking companies that don't do the same so porters carry 3 peoples's bags. Thanks to Down to Earth Adventures, to our guide and to our brave and strong porters, father and son Sumba and Karma. We had a wonderful time and you make a dream come true.

Poon Hill Trek

I have had my first experience traveling alone in Nepal. Since the first moment Rahul, the responsable of Down to Earth Avendture, helped me and searched the best trekking for me and my available time. I did a short trek to Poon Hill, I went alone with a guide, and I always felt safety and confidence with him. My trek showed to me a diferent Nepal, acroos wonderfull waterfalls, large bridges, green forests and the biggest montains in the world like view. Also my guide was a smart person and he told me all the things about the nepali culture...I have really enjoyed my trekking, for the next visit to Nepal I will choose this company and his people, thank you for all.

Everest Camp Trip (April-2015)

Myself and a friend booked a trek with Down to Earth Adventures with the referral from a friend, the prices were very competitive and the good character reference was the decision maker for us. When we arrived in KTM we were greated by Rahul, his wife Kate and our guide We were treated like long time friends and taken out for some dinner and a meet and greet. On the fly out day to Lukla We were lucky enough to be on one of the only two planes to have flown out that day because of weather. This was because of the organisation from Down to Earth. The trek itself was an awesome experience and trekking in the small group of only two of us was good because we all became good friends over the trek. We were able to trek at our own pace and the itinerary was able to be adjusted as we went if needed. We arrived on base camp on the morning of the 7th day of our trek and after a celebratory beer we left the Khumba glacier just before the fatal earthquake. Luckily we had no dramas or injuries and thanks to our guide were able to make our way back to Lukla very quickly and without incident. Although our guide and our Trek organiser, Rahul had worries of their own back home including loosing their house and not knowing the safety of family members we were always top of their priority and messages were being relayed back to our family in Australia to let them know of our safety. Their efforts were above and beyond and I would definitely recommend them to anyone interested in trekking in Nepal. I will be sure to go back to the Himalayas and complete another trek and will have Down To Earth Adventures by my side, our trek organiser and guide were not only very skilled in their trek knowledge but had very interesting cultural and geographical knowledge that was shared along the many hours of trekking.

Fantastic Trip

I’m glad that I was the first official trekker with Down to Earth Adventure in March to April 2015. Rahul’s 15 years of experience as a trekking guide has tailor-made a perfectly combined trip with both Everest Base Camp Trek and Three Passes for me. He and his porter know the mountains and the locals so well, they could flexibly adjust the itinerary to fit my physical conditions, and with their help, I got to know much more about local culture and their livelihood on top of enjoying the landscape of the Himalayas. I was with them in the mountain for almost a month, if I still would like to go trekking with them, you can tell I had a great time with them.”

Shyama School Rebuild Volunteer Trek - Nov 2015

Traveling with Rahul Shrestha and the Down to Earth team was the richest experience of my life. Not only did we experience the mountains and country, but were welcomed in to the homes and hearts of the people of Nepal. This is due to the knowledge, experience and relationships of Rahul and his team. I will be traveling with Rahul and Down to Earth on every visit to Nepal!"

Pikey Volunteer Trek

I recently went trekking with Down to Earth Adventure and I instantly felt at home. It was amazing to experience the wonders of the Himalayas combined with a life changing cultural experience where I got to share in changing the quality of life for some of those who need it the most. With a mixture of volunteering and trekking, it is definitely a trip that everyone should make at least once in their lives! It will give you a new perspective on life. Thank you to my guides who became friends, for looking after me and making sure that my itinerary suited my needs and wants for the trip.

Incredible Experience

"I've meet Downtoearth adventures a couple of years ago, as our trekking guide company; and our partner in ADH (www.ayudadirectahimalaya.org), a NGO. The main objective of ADH is helping people (mainly childs) in recover form the earthquake. Down to earth not only made a wonderfull job as a trekking company, but as a partner we've been able to reach our objectives. For me and the ADH team, those activities in Nepal with them, has been an incredible experience. Without them, their people; and their "know how" it would't have been possible. I'd like to thanks them their tremendous effort to handle all the situations, giving us the opportunity to enjoy Nepal and it's people."
