Trip
Overview

Annapurna Circuit is a classic trek which offers an overwhelming array of ecosystems and scenery… each day prepare yourself to be not only amazed by the landscape accentuated by the towering Annapurna Massif and the numerous peaks of 6000 - 8000 metres but you will be spoilt with the flora and fauna on offer along the way too. You will be delighted by the myriad of cultures subsisting in traditional villages. Taking the high trail allows you to take in Ngawal and Ghyaru villages enroute to Manang. You will see preserved, traditional Tibetan villages and sample some local delicacies… This trek takes you across many suspension bridges across rushing rivers on your mission to conquer Thorong-La (5416m) and glimpse the desert-like Tibetan plateau of Mustang as we move towards Jomsom. Opportunities to kick-back and relax your weary legs in Pokhara by the beautiful Phewa Lake or engage in adrenaline fuelled adventure activities help to wrap up this ultimate trek.

These treks typically require you to do 6-7 hours each day over steep hilly terrain on usually rough trails but with no real extremes of weather. Treks in this category can include trekking to elevations of up to 5500m with daily ascends of around 400-700m.When trekking at higher altitudes, your body needs to adjust to lower levels of oxygen and this provides added physical challenge to the trek. It is important to be physically fit and to prepare your body by doing regular exercise prior to embarking on your trek. Previous hiking or camping experience is preferable.
