Overview

Kakani – Shivapuri – Nagarkot – Dhulikhel Trek

This trek will take you on a journey of discovery. Each location in your itinerary has been deliberately selected to offer you superb mountain views… it is even possible to see Mt Everest from the vantage points of Nagarkot, Chisopani, Kakani and Shivapuri Hill. For instance, from the top of Shivapuri, one can have a panoramic view of the western mountains like Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Ganesh Himal Range, Mt. Langtang Range, Mt. Dorjeelakpa Mt. Shisapangma, Mt. Gaurishankar and many more.

In 6 days you will gain incredible insight into the unique culture, lifestyles and traditions of Nepali people who reside in the Kathmandu valley region. The scenery and abundance of wildlife, especially birds will leave you captivated by this photogenic and picturesque paradise. You will be blown away by the magical sunrises and sunsets on offer and feel surprised that you have stumbled upon such a tranquil and relatively untouched haven so close to the busy heart of Kathmandu.

Starting in Kakani, 25 kilometres north-west of Kathmandu, you will venture through wild rhododendron forest and vibrant green terraced rice fields and enter the Shivapuri National Park en route to Chisopani and the famous Nagarkot hill station. Moving on to Dhulikhel will give you a taste of an old Newari trading post as well as allowing you to take in the magnificent mountain panoramas which you will become accustomed to throughout this trek. Finally, a stop at Panauti provides the ultimate chance to experience the massive, three-tiered Indreshwor Mahadev and conclude your amazing adventure by driving back to Kathmandu.
