This trek packs a lot into its 16 days… there is the challenge of conquering 5000m+ passes of Numa-La (5310m) and Baga-La (5170m) combined with the thrill of venturing into the unique world of the Lower Dolpo region. You will experience ancient villages such as Dho Tarap; frozen in time with their interesting cultures and traditions and venture into a wide range of vegetation including virgin forests of pine, oak and juniper and the chance to come into contact with many endangered species of Himalayan musk deer, blue sheep and the ever-illusive and shy snow leopard. Imagine all this with opportunities to capture out of this world photos of snow-capped giants of the Dhaulagiri Himal and Tibetan ranges from the ultimate vantage points. Add in the contrast of the stunning turquoise waters of Phoksundo Lake and the rich Buddhist and Bon po culture and you have a smorgasboard of unforgettable scenery and memories.
